UK based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist 'Here's The Steeple’ (aka Dan Walters) has returned once again with exquisite new single ’This Machine Builds Facists’.
Through his music, Dan projects his love for intricate textures, thoughtful lyrics, and vocal harmony.
The new single is no exception, and he said:
"This Machine Builds Fascists is about how I feel capitalism has led to a sense of global insecurity, which has resulted in a surge of right wing populist thought which verges on fascism.
This song is inspired by experimental folk artists such as This Is The Kit and Rachael Dadd. I was initially a bit wary of going back to writing political songs, but I'm angry about the current political context and I wanted to express that."
Alongside his thought provoking songwriting, the music projects an idyllic overall sound. With his signature guitar being accompanied by trumpet, saxophone, and piano.
Here’s The Steeple is the musical handle of multi-instrumentalist Dan Walters. His songs combine intricate textures and thoughtful lyrics with a wide range of folk influences, all delivered with a uniquely rich and soulful Northern voice to warm you up like a good cup of tea.
Dan has previously supported Will Varley, Rozi Plain, Scott Matthews, Tiny Ruins, and Steve Mason (The Beta Band).
His previous songs have been featured on Fresh On The Net, BBC 6 Music, and BBC Introducing alongside numerous other radio stations.
This Machine Builds Fascists is out Friday 16th February - https://kycker.ffm.to/tmbf
